People of Fallcrest, I implore you!
Kiris Dahn was a wealthy independent city located outside the Nentir Vale, a day’s travel west of the Ogrefist Hills. Ruled by the Kiris family, it was known as the “Jewel of the North” for much of its history. Unlike the towns of the Nentir Vale, it was not sacked by orcs during the Bloodspear War. The city was the beneficiary of numerous arcane public engineering projects carried out by the Merchants of Invention, which improved the city’s defense, sanitation, communications, and transportation infrastructure. During this time, the Merchants also developed the powerful slaying stones at the request of Kiris Declan.
During the 500’s, wealth in the city became increasingly stratified among the citizens, leading to decreased economic opportunities and a shrinking population. The city was no longer able to afford its public works projects, and the influence of the Merchants waned. Kiris Dahn finally fell to goblin forces out of Daggerburg in 578, and was renamed Gorizbadd by the occupying forces.
